Focusing on the business of Food Supply and Distribution
The business of Sze Heng Chan Holdings (四興棧) started in 2004 in Singapore as a Sole Proprietor, founded by Lester Tan, focusing on the business of Food Supply and Distribution. The roots of the company name “四興棧” was adopted from Lester’s father old business selling potatoes, onion and garlic through van sale. With limited capital in hand and absolutely no experience and guidance in the wholesales provision trade, Lester started with buying a small van and a rented shop front in Victoria Wholesales Centre at Victoria Street.
Armed with a passion for the business and hardworking work ethics, Lester learned and pick up the rope as he goes along, single handily building the business to where it is today. In the early days he handled all ordering of goods, finding new customers (door knocking, calling) and deliveries all on his own.
Meanwhile, his wife supported with admin works. Through perseverance and their great service provided to their customers, they managed to establish market shares in the F&B/Food Manufacturer/Bakery sectors as business got on track.
In 2008, 四興棧 rented warehouse in Defu Lane, importing house brand rice and other dry provision goods (such as oil, sugar, cooking sauces, spices) for distribution. Consequently, Victoria Wholesales Centre was taken back by HDB for redevelopment of a hotel site.
In 2017, 四興棧 moved to the current location at 1 Tampines North Drive One #06-17/18/19 T-Space, Singapore 528559.
